Sonshine

Imagine being in the last stages of your life. You are confined to a wheelchair in a nursing home, your eyesight and hearing is not what it used to be, and you may have lost a dear husband or wife. You’d like to go to church, but you just can’t. Sounds despairing? That’s where the Sonshine Society Ministry comes in.

On the first Sunday and third Sunday of every month, a group of folks from CPC descends on Aegis in Issaquah. for a time of singing treasured hymns, performing special music, reading scripture, listening to residents’ stories, leading devotions, and praying with them. Anyone is welcome to drop in. No special talents are required, just a caring heart. You’ll know you are making a difference by the smiles, tears, and hugs you’ll get when you come.

Of course, if you have a special talent, or if you’d like to practice being in front of a group. This is the place to do it. Everyone is friendly and accepting regardless of a missed note or a stutter. This is an event where all ages and families are welcome. For more information call the church office at (425) 392-5532 or by email.

Location: Aegis of Issaquah, 780 NW Juniper Street, Issaquah, WA

CPC is a congregation of the PCA.
