In 2006, CPC made the switch from the New International Version (NIV) to the English Standard Version (ESV) of the Bible as our main teaching Bible and pew Bible. To read more about why, click here to read a good article by John Piper about the topic.
Recently we've found the ESV to be more and more available, including gracing the shelves of the warehouse superstore who's headquarters are a short distance from CPC. Not only does this make it easier for you to pick up a copy, this placement in their limited book selection is a reason to give thanks to the Lord!
There are several places the ESV is available to view online, including:
- ESV.org the official home of the ESV Bible
- BibleGateway.com has a large number of translations available
- BibleServer.com also has a large collection of translations, allowing multiple side by side views
